I was an average golfer for 10 years with dreams of obtaining my PGA Status and competing on the LPGA Tour. I didn’t have much confidence in myself but when I, by chance, met Coach Nitro that all changed. He was running the Paragolf-Nitrogolf Training Centre for the Disabilities in Langley, B.C. and was for the past 35 years teaching and training some of the World’s Top Disabled and Adaptive golfers, from Special Olympians to World Deaf & Blind Olympic
Champions to one of the World Class Blind golfers having a 4 Hcp, and another double leg limb disabled golfer with a 6 Hcp.
Coming from Calgary I had never heard of Coach Nitro but was amazed at what he had done and could do. After an in person meeting in the spring of 2022 I was so impressed….To me his knowledge and coaching philosophy was amazing and by far the Best All-Around Golf and Wisdom Coach I have ever met. His many years of precise expertise in Coaching Techniques along with his Masters in Golf Psychology with Olympic Mental skills training background and his advanced RiteWay Putting & Breathing methods, was all I needed to resurrect my
determination & focus to get to the LPGA. Coach Nitro elevated my score in the first few months, up to the point where I felt confident that I would try for my PGA card in the summer of 2022… I was so thrilled that all the intense training and practicing Coach Nitro insisted I do paid off. At the end of the day I even shot +1 over on the back 9 holes…which I had never done in my life.
I was so happy to earn my PGA card that day, now I am heading for qualifying school for the LPGA. It’s amazing what I have accomplished in such a short time with Coach Nitro’s ingenuity of both Technical Instruction and Mental Training guidance. He is always there for me to help guide me to and through my LPGA journey and all my future goals.
You are a wonderful person and excellent coach, a truly well kept secret in the main-stream Golf world. You continue to inspire & transform my perspectives on and off the course for many years to come – I am honoured to call you My Coach “Sensei”

As a Silver medalist winner at the 2017 Special Olympics Winter Games in Austria and member of our Canadian Special Olympics Speed Skating Team, I know what it takes to compete at the top of your game. Last year I wanted to learn how to golf so I could someday compete in the golfing event at the Summer Paralympics.

Working with Coach Nitro with my new sport of golf has been so helpful and each session is more fun than the last. He makes golf so much fun.  In the last year working with Coach Nitro I have seen huge improvements in my swing and his knowledge on training your mind has really helped me mentally in learning during practice and when on the golf course.

Having an intellectual disability, Coach Nitro’s ability to break down instructions and drills and make them simple to understand has been a big reason I have seen improvements quickly in my game. Coach Nitro has helped my confidence in my game and he makes golf so easy to learn. Putting is my favorite. Coach Nitro’s many years of teaching and golfing experience with people with disabilities has also really helped me develop personally.

I would recommend Coach Nitro to anyone looking to improve their game and training their mind to be as strong as it can be and that your mind is the key to taking your game to the next level.

Hi Coach “NITRO”….. Just wanted to let you know that you have helped me so much with my golf. As a visually impaired blind person golf is not easy.  You have an unbelievable talent for coaching and teaching golf and you could teach any level of golfer, improving all aspects of their game.   The help you gave me with my putting has taken me to the next level. Your Riteway method of teaching putting to the blind is just amazing. Because of my putting improvement , this year in Rome, Italy I was able to set a new World Blind Golf record score of a 77 & 74=151 from the white tees on a regulation course and Win the tournament. I am so much more confident and know that every putt no matter the distance will be in the hole of very near the hole….No more three putts for me.
For myself it was the “Posi-Vision” training on the mental side of the game that we worked on that really changed things. Not only did it help my overall game but also the way I now approach my golf tournaments, always being positive in everything I do. I now have the confidence that I can play well on any course. What a nice feeling to have as a blind person.
My mental “Buddy” and I are very grateful to know you not only as a coach but as a friend and to be able to gain knowledge and tips when I am at tournaments.  Thank you so much for all you do for the visually impaired and disabled golfers.

George Thirkill…..Blind Golfer

I am a 82 year old visually impaired golfer and golf in blind tournaments around the world.
I now have a 21 hcp and I try to lower that score every time I go out to play. My golfing Guide, Coach Nitro helps me with many facets of the game, but doesn’t let me drive the golf cart as yet. We enjoy playing together and traveling to golf Tournaments where Coach Nitro helps the blind golfers with lessons. Coach Nitro and I have been working together since 2012. Due to his high level of training experience, teaching and coaching he has a very positive attitude about everything, especially golf. It’s so easy to talk and listen to his thoughts on how golf should be played. He is very knowledgeable with the mental side of the game which is important to me.

At our first practice at the range Coach Nitro soon realized that it would be difficult to make major changes to my golf swing as I had been golfing for more than 50 years.

He then encouraged me to trust my swing and accept the results. Coach Nitro is a qualified putting master and the only person I ask to assist reading my putts. By walking the green tells me the lay and slope and I step off the distance to the hole I once asked him why he has not given me any putting tips, his quick answer was …”You don’t need any, cause your stroke is excellent and it’s all about touch and feel with your mental intuitiveness” as a visually impaired golfer I enjoy the game even though I can’t see where the ball goes but I can feel what direction is goes when it makes contact with the club face. Coach Nitro really encourages me to think positive and enjoy the game. As he says..You never have a bad shot…only a learning shot” He is a great asset to have on my bag.

Over the years, I’ve taken many golf lessons from numerous CPGA instructors.
I must say that Coach Nitro, a Certified CGTF Instructor with over 30 years of Teaching and Coaching experience, approach has been the most helpful to me.
As an Academic Instructor myself, I know what it takes and Coach Nitro’s unique  approach helped me simplify the golf swing and the Mental part that goes  with the swing.
He has a special ability to connect with the student, identify specific issues in the golf swing and demonstrate simple and effective fixes, making the student experience  – “ah ha” moment.
If you are a typical golfer who started golf later in life and learned to “hit” at the ball, mostly with your arms, you should try a lesson with Coach Nitro, and he will quickly get you on your way to “swinging” fluidly with the right parts of your body in the right sequence without any effort.

What seemed to take me 3 lessons to learn or achieve a fix in my swing, Coach Nitro covered it in one.  Can’t wait for some putting lessons to help round out my game and improve my scores.

I went to Nitrogolf to fix my number 1 wood. I am a lefty and been only golfing for a few years. I was only hitting 225 yards and I was slicing. I thought I should hit 250 straight if things went well. During my first lesson Coach Nitro told me I was losing a lot of power through my swing motion. He adjusted my motion section by section which made it easy to incorporate in my swing. He also had me do a simple swing exercise at home with no balls. I’m a busy professional and only had time to do the exercise two or three times for about 10 minutes. Nevertheless, 2 weeks later I was hitting 250 plus yards, I was straight and consistent…”thank you no more slice”. I am still amazed by the results. I also got a great gain in accuracy and distance with my irons.
Coach Nitro is a very good instructor. I am even sending my friend to him for lessons.

My Christmas present came a bit late this year. It was a chance meeting with Coach Nitro from NitroGolf Academy at the driving range where he teaches. My rounds are normally in the 80’s trying to get into the 70’s. I have been golfing for many years and taken many lessons but with only one lesson Coach Nitro was able to turn my stiff armed, but accurate, drive, into an effortless free swing BOMB !  I did not realize that I could hit a ball that far with so little effort. Same thing with the irons, loose and easy, and the ball was exploding off the club face ! Coach Nitro is a TEACHER ! He actually teaches blind people how to golf…Amazing.  If you want to seriously improve your game in all areas, look no farther. His passion and knowledge of the game is exemplary. No matter what your ability is, take one lesson with him and you will SEE !!!

I have only taken a few lessons now and  Coach Nitro’s patient approach and expert knowledge of swing fundamentals really helped my game and made golf more fun.  I learned why I was slicing the ball and corrected my bad habits, which is no easy thing!  It’s the best investment you’ll make in your golf game. Coach Nitro can make you become a better golfer…he really helped me. I recommend NitroGolf lessons for golfers of all abilities.

I recommend Jason as a Golf Teacher without hesitation to anyone that wants to learn how to Golf well.  I am a beginner golfer with only a few years of playing, not that well. I had taken lessons before but Coach Nitro’s method to making golf easy, with his focus on muscle memory, attention to swing details and his joy for the game have made golf more fun for me. Coach Nitro has helped me to understand the elements of a good swing and given me drills to get there. He’s changed my short game for the better. He makes it all make sense.
You should definitely try him out — just don’t take my lesson time!
