43RD-ANNUAL JUNIOR AMERICA’S CUP AT PINE CANYON CLUB –FLAGSTAFF, AZ.
Junior America’s Cup Team British Columbia – 4th place, tied with Oregon. B.C.’s Roy KANG of Coquitlam is the third place medalist. Roy had no less than 17 birdies and 3 eagles at the exclusive and pristine Pine Canyon Country Club. Southern California Team JAC had a stellar performance to take the Gold medals, with Wyoming locking up the Silver medal and Colorado proudly taking the Bronze medals. The Junior America’s Cup is an Royal & Ancient Golf Association, World Amateur ranked event! Many College and University Golf Coaches were in attendance and took particular interest in Roy KANG(visit to University of Nevada Las Vegas) and Sy LOVAN(U of Arizona and Gonzaga) of Surrey. Both these athletes graduate from High School in 2016. Our other players, Alex PARK of Vancouver is heading to the University of California at Berkley and Diego San PEDRO of Richmond heads to Oregon State in August. Captains Harry White and Ed Lex, both of Vancouver accompanied the Team and look forward to the 2016 Junior America’s Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico at the Guadalajara CC. Roy Kang of Coquitlam has been awarded a “spot” on the 2016 JAC Team for BC, with the balance of three players up for competition next year. The Junior Golf Foundation of BC, fund and conduct this program and the Optimist Junior Linkster Tour and qualifying for Junior World in San Diego, Veritas World Championships in Los Angeles and Optimist International Junior in Florida.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The team from Southern California took top honors at the 43rd-annual Junior America’s Cup held in Flagstaff, Arizona at Pine Canyon Club, July 28-30. Team B.C. had a great showing with a 4th Place finish.
